Our practice re-opened on 8th June

The Village Dental Practice is pleased that we were able to start seeing our patients face to face again from the 8th June. We have worked with NHS commissioners and Local Dental Committees to put procedures in place to ensure the safety of our staff and patients. Services are not quite back to normal and we may not be able to provide you with the same service you have always received from us. If you are in pain or in need of support and need help or advice please call the practice on 01925 765757 or email vdpemail@talktalk.net Since the start of lockdown we have had to cancel all appointments and now we are open we will initially be prioritising appointments for our existing patients who have had dental emergencies or appointments cancelled in order of urgency. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT click here to watch a video of important patient information

What to expect now we are open

You need to be aware that this will not be business as usual. The treatments you are offered may be different to those you have received before, depending on staff and equipment available. It will take some time before services return to what you previously experienced as normal. Please be patient. Hand sanitisers are available at the entrance, our PPE has been upgraded and the patient journey re-designed in line with social distancing. We will be conducting pre-screening tests of patients which will include taking your temperature on arrival. Appointments will be booked to ensure the practice and waiting areas are not overcrowded, We will do this by leaving suitable gaps between appointments, making sure you can attend the practice while maintaining social distancing. We will also be creating clinics for patients who are most vulnerable, to help minimize contact with others for this group whilst they are in the practice. To avoid overcrowding, when you arrive at the practice, we ask that you wait in your car or in a safe place outside until called in. We will notify you by phone when you should enter the practice. You will be required to fill in all relevant forms on your electronic device, before you enter the practice, from the comfort of your home. This means you will not have to touch a pen, paper or any electronic device other than your own when you attend your appointment. We will ask you to pay using a contactless card or online payment method. This crucial step greatly reduces the touch points at the practice. Between all appointments, as always, the dental team will thoroughly disinfect the dental surgery, reducing the risk of exposure to anything harmful while you are in the dental chair. We thank you all for your patience during this difficult time and look forward to seeing you again soon. Dr Joanne Finn and all the team at the Village Dental Practice
