NHS Dental Charges

from 1st April 2019

If you normally pay for your NHS dental treatment

there are three standard charges . The amount you

pay will depend on the level of treatment you need.

NHS Treatment Bands

Band 1

This charge includes an examination, diagnosis and preventative advice. If necessary it also includes X- rays, a basic scale and polish and planning for further treatment. £22.70

Band 2

This charge includes all the necessary treatment covered by band 1, plus additional treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment or periodontal treatment where required. £62.10

Continuation of treatment

If, within two months of completing a course of treatment, yo need further treatment within the same charge or a lower charge band yo don’t have to pay again. If you require further treatment after two months of completing a course of treatment you will have to pay an additional charge.

Band 3

This charge includes all the necessary treatment that is covered by Band 1 and Band 2 plus more complex procedures such as crowns, bridges and dentures. . £269.30

Urgent Treatment

If your initial treatment is classified as a separate, urgent treatment it is to get you out of immediate pain. It may not be included in any subsequent course of treatment that you may require, For urgent treatment (including out of hours treatment) you will have to pay a separate charge of . £22.70
